{"id":229,"date":"2012-02-12T19:39:35","date_gmt":"2012-02-13T03:39:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/catechumenate-guyblog.org\/?p=229"},"modified":"2020-01-26T07:14:53","modified_gmt":"2020-01-26T15:14:53","slug":"way-too-long","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/catechumenate-guyblog.org\/?p=229","title":{"rendered":"Way too long"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Been since before Advent, before Thanksgiving since a post.&nbsp; Way tooooo long.&nbsp; Hope to be back on a regular basis but no promises.<\/p>\n<p>Spent Thanksgiving with John Riggs.&nbsp; We met at Notre Dame.&nbsp; John was in the liturgy track of the doctoral studies; I was in systematics.&nbsp; John ended up teaching church history at Eden&#8217;s Seminary because they don&#8217;t teach liturgy and are, of course, sparse on &#8220;Worship.&#8221; But John has a profound sense of the ecumenical nature of baptism.&nbsp; We share the puzzlement of why many involved in the RCIA seem to think and certainly write like baptism and initiation is into the Roman Catholic branch of the church.<\/p>\n<p>My commitment?&nbsp; To continue to reflect on rite process.&nbsp; To start a dialogue that does NOT assume that initiation is the sole property of the Roman Catholic branch of the church.&nbsp; Can&#8217;t do that with sporadic posts.<\/p>\n<p>Will talk about Advent and beyond in the next &#8220;Catechumenate Process&#8221; post.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Been since before Advent, before Thanksgiving since a post.&nbsp; Way tooooo long.&nbsp; Hope to be back on a regular basis but no promises.
